The Ambassador

The Ambassador represents the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Government in Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Nauru and therefore the highest representative of Germany in the jurisdiction. Ambassador Mr Martin Lutz took up his position in July 2005.

Office and Residency

The building of the Embassy is centrally located in the suburb of Yarralumla nearby Lake Burley Griffin. It was built in the early 50s in the typical straight architectural style of the post war era and is still meeting today's requirements.
