The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is Germany's largest scholarship-awarding organisation and runs serveral programs.

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation focuses on the exchange of highly qualified academics. It grants scholarships and research awards to Germans and foreigners, thus strengthening Germany as a location for research.

Gotttlieb Daimler and Karl Benz Foundation offers PhD scholarships "Research Abroad"
To promote the research efforts of German PhD students abroad as well as of foreign PhD students at German research institutions the foundation awards fellowships. The program is open to all disciplines, topics and countries.

The Higher Education Compass online

The Higher Education Compass features all kind of information on German institutions of higher education, the study courses they offer, and their international cooperation.

"Campus Germany – Study and Research in Germany” is a cooperation between Deutsche Welle and the DAAD. The Web site was created in 2001 by the "Joint Initiative for the Promotion of Study, Research and Training in Germany". The German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) is one of the institutions that funds the site.

German Scholars Organization
The German Scholars Organization is a nonprofit network and resource for German researchers working outside of Germany and pursuing a research-related career. It provides a forum for contact and exchange among member scientists, disseminates information about developments in Germany affecting careers in research, and forges and facilitates links between member scholars and interested commercial firms and other institutions of research.

Erasmus Mundus
The Erasmus Mundus programme is a co-operation and mobility programme in the field of higher education which promotes the European Union as a centre of excellence in learning around the world. It supports European top-quality Masters Courses and enhances the visibility and attractiveness of European higher education in third countries.

uni-assist e.V. is an association of more than 70 German universities, founded to make the application procedure for international student applicants easier and at the same time to support German universities in the selection of their foreign students.
